CLEVELAND BASEBALL FEDERATION PRESENTED

RBI “FIRST PITCH”

JUNE 12th  2008 AT PROGRESSIVE FIELD

Cleveland Indians Charities (CIC) and Cleveland Baseball Federation (CBF) played host to a baseball and health education clinic at Progressive Field.  The Clinic was to leadoff the 2008 RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) baseball and softball seasons.  The 1,000 RBI participants ages 10-14 years rotated between a variety of recreational and educational stations ending in a “First Pitch” exhibition game played on-field prior to the Indians versus Twins 7:05PM game.   The City of Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson welcomed the young athletes.

       Cleveland RBI Program Ambassador, Indians OF Grady Sizemore,  gave his playing expertise to eager kids within each teaching station.  Cleveland Indians OF David Dellucci, third base Joel Skinner and hitting coach Derek Shelton also assisted in the day’s events.
